I love wearing my ice cream cone purse! When I wore it in my booth at the New York International Gift Fair-Juried Handmade, it wasn’t quite ready for prime time - but a CNN celebrity noticed it and commented. Just wish I had carried a spare- I think I would have shared a scoop.

Sherbet Roses

As much fun as shows and art parties are, it is always nice to get back to work in the studio/workroom. These were a few of the Roses/Roses pillows made and sold at show.

I used cotton velvet which I cut into strips, serged,

*ps-this gorgeous rose pic came from my friend Becky's garden. She has the green thumb & many spectacular English Roses. This one is a Jackson Rose-given to her on her first Mother's Day in honor of her first born-Jackson.

Quick Little Sachet Gift

Sewed this little silk sachet for a young friend yesterday. Even with dyeing the silk to achieve the perfect 4-year old girlie pink, it went very smoothly! Using Anniversary font in Bernina's V6 software and an ombre pink rayon thread, I stitched out "Georgia" between tiny ombre red rosebuds.

Here are some similar colorful silk sachets for my beloved niece's bridal party girls! (can you tell this is one of my favorite projects?)

Showtime

It is hard to call this work when you can spend an afternoon in a glorious garden and studio like my friend Suzi's to show & sell your wares.

just a short walk behind her fabulous, colorful and peaceful home is a retreat that artists like me only dream of.......

the morning sun streamed in and we set about our work: arranging flowers, art, snacks & wine for our guests
